Cape May Convention Hall is seeking a full-time Wedding and Event Coordinator. Under the direction of the Director of Civic Affairs, Recreation, Tourism and Marketing, the Wedding and Event Coordinator will be responsible for Weddings and Special Events held at Convention Hall, including but not limited to, concerts, proms, trade shows, and craft shows.

Being a team member of the Civic Affairs and Recreation Department, the Wedding and Event Coordinator will also work community events including parades, Children's events, holidays, and Roller Skating.

Responsibilities include coordinating, promoting and supervising such events. This position calls for promoting public relations within the community and facility, and managing the operation of Convention Hall when events are held.

The position requires mandatory nights and weekends with a flexible schedule based on events.

SPECIFIC AND REQUIRED TASKS INCLUDE:

  • Main Point of Contact for Designated Events
  • Responsible for all Event Coordination (set up, vendor needs, client needs, staffing, etc.)
  • Wedding and Event Management - including but not limited to: networking and solicitation, lead development, marketing, site tours, documentation including agreements, BEO, floorplan, invoices, etc.
  • Responsible for Event Sales including Deposit, Payments and Box Office (to include selling tickets, printing Will Call and alphabetizing in advance, pulling reports for all designated events as well as any additional Box Office requests from the City, Talent, or Vendors)
  • Marketing including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, advertisements (design and distribution), website, marquis, and tracking.

REQUIREMENTS:

NOTE: Applicants must meet one of the following or a combination of both experience and education. Thirty (30) semester hour credits are equal to one (1) year of relevant experience.

Six (6) years of professional experience in planning, developing, and supervising special events, recreational, educational, or social service programs in a community, agency, or facility setting OR Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and two (2) years of the above-mentioned professional experience.

NOTE: " Professional experience" refers to work that is creative, analytical, evaluative, and interpretive; requires a range and depth of specialized knowledge of the profession's principles, concepts, theories, and practices; and is performed with the authority to act according to one's own judgement and make accurate and informed decisions.

Pay Rate: $40,000 - $45,000 Per Year + Pension and Benefits

Minimum Hours: 40 Hours Per Week, Full-Time
