Military Beach Tags must be picked up in person with proper identification.
BEACH TAG PROCEDURES FOR ACTIVE MILITARY and VETERAN tags:
- Beach tags may be provided free (no fee) to Active Military personnel and Veterans of the following branches of Service:
- United States Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps, as well as members of the United States Coast Guard and the New Jersey National Guard.
Active Military: MUST BE PICKED UP IN PERSON
- Military personnel, spouse/civil union partner, and dependent children twelve (12) years of age and older
- Qualifying Active Military personnel must be present at the time of request
- Proper identification (ie: military ID) must be presented
- Completion of City of Cape May Beach Tag tracking form
- One set of beach tags will be issued per beach season
Veteran: MUST BE PICKED UP IN PERSON
- Any individual who has served and was released through Honorable Discharge with at least 90-days active duty or released from active duty by reason of a service-incurred injury or disability
- Qualifying Veteran must be present at the time of request
- Proper identification (ie: discharge papers DD214) must be presented
- Completion of City of Cape May Beach Tag tracking form
- One beach tag will be issued per beach season
- Active Military and Veteran beach tags will be available for pick-up at the Beach Tag Office (Beach Avenue) and the Tax Office (City Hall)
- Active Military and Veteran beach tags provided free (no fee) is permitted by New Jersey State law, and under Cape May City Code (Chapter 158, Section 3) as amended
