City Manager Paul Dietrich has been involved with public service for over 24 years. He has served as Upper Township’s Municipal Engineer since 1999 and performed numerous additional duties including IT Director, Superintendent of Public Works, Municipal Housing Liaison and Planning & Zoning Board Engineer. Paul holds Professional licenses in both Engineering and Planning and is a Certified Municipal Engineer, Certified Floodplain Manager and Certified Public Works Manager.
Prior to entering public government, Paul worked as a Professional Engineer in private practice and worked in on a variety of engineering projects including bridge design, bridge structural inspection, commercial site design and construction inspection.
Paul and his family have lived in Cape May County since 1966. He graduated from Ocean City High School and received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston. He currently lives in Ocean City with his wife, Cindy, after raising their four children with his wife, Cindy, in Dennisville. While in Dennisville, he coached soccer, baseball and street-hockey and served as both Cubmaster and Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America for over 15 years.
