The City of Cape May maintains over two miles of pristine bathing beaches along the Atlantic Ocean. USLA-certified lifeguarding services are provided daily from May through September with extended evening hours from July through mid-September. For a list of guarded beaches, please click HERE. The City provides daily beach cleaning operations comprising mechanized equipment and hand raking from early May through the end of September. There restroom facility buildings strategically placed along our beachfront which are operational from mid-March to early November. Full access, parking, and related amenities on our Promenade and beaches have been installed for our local and visiting disabled and elderly citizens. Cape May partners in two long-term beach replenishment agreements with state and federal agencies which focus on navigational, shoreline protection, and ecosystem restoration missions, with the creation and enhancement of recreational bathing beaches being a secondary benefit. Affordable beach tag fees are in effect on a daily basis from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Accessories, such as chairs, umbrellas, cabanas, sundries, and snacks/non-alcoholic beverages are available from licensed vendors stationed on most beaches.
